The Venezuelan Government assures that the country is ready to face any threat from the United States, highlighting the second stage of voluntary enlistment.

The vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, referred on Friday to the negative consequences that the “economic blockade” imposed by the United States during the last decade has brought with it, ensuring that if the latter dares to launch attacks, the Bolivarian nation will be “its calamity”.

[the US] is going to do much worse, if they dare to aggression, they are going to do much worse. We will be your calamity, we will be your nightmare. And it will also mean the instability of this entire continent. […]. Calm down, gentlemen hawks of the USA. Calm down, calm down, because they are going to cause great damage to your country. Venezuela is ready and prepared”, said.

Furthermore, he downplayed the “psychological warfare” waged against the country in recent weeks, declaring that “this psychological warfare always seeks moral softening, but in Venezuela they are wrong, as always”.

“We have demonstrated it throughout this historical period of the Bolivarian Revolution: they are wrong and will continue to be wrong. Here there is no softening, here there is the consolidation of an impregnable force to defend our country”, Rodríguez added.

In parallel, the second stage of voluntary enlistment began in Venezuela for “the defense” of the country against threats from the United States, following the deployment of US warships in the Caribbean Sea.

Previously, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro had announced the beginning of the “Great Enlistment Day” in the face of growing pressure from Washington.

Likewise, the Venezuelan president broadcast a video on social networks, showing images of last weekend’s enlistment process and the Venezuelan tricolor flag, inviting citizens to attend “with loyalty and commitment”.

In this sense, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, highlighted the people’s response to the “size of the imperialist aggression that is looming against Venezuela”, stating that on this “second day” they are “better organized”, with 140 points of registration in the capital region.

Tension has escalated especially after on Tuesday White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt assured that the United States is prepared to “use all its power” to stop the “flow of drugs into its country”, accusing the Government of Maduro of “a narcoterrorist cartel”.

The Venezuelan Government has categorically rejected the accusation of drug trafficking warning about Washington’s attempts to use the alleged fight against drug trafficking as a pretext to “attack” Venezuela.

In this way, the Venezuelan government has activated a national deployment of the Bolivarian Militia to strengthen the defense of national sovereignty against external threats.
