It is blatant hypocrisy on the part of the governments of the colonial West, those same governments that boast of “defending animals” and draft strict laws for their protection, while they finance, support, and arm the Zionist settler government and its genocidal army so that they can continue killing Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The moral farce reaches the extreme that, while Palestinians are massacred under bombs, the occupying army confiscates donkeys from Gaza, transferring them first to Tel Aviv and then to Germany, in a grotesque spectacle of “animal welfare,” while denying even the most basic rights to human beings under occupation.
A world that saves donkeys but allows the extermination of Palestinian children has abdicated all ethical authority.
These same governments, so quick to speak of ethics and “humanitarian values,” are the ones that endorse—through their silence or direct complicity—the incursions, destruction, and murders in Syria and Lebanon, thus revealing the true face of a colonial system that never abandoned its bloody legacy but rather renewed it through the Zionist project.
The West’s moral double standard is clearer than ever:
Enormous compassion for animals…
And a brutal indifference to the lives of Palestinian and Arab human beings, as long as the killer is a Zionist and the victim is an Arab.
The Palestinian Union of Latin America (UPAL) reaffirms that this stance is not mere bias, but a full-fledged alliance in crime, and that every bomb dropped on Gaza, every bullet fired in the West Bank, and every act of aggression against Syria and Lebanon also bears the political and military stamp of those capitals that disseminate false values.
Despite the pain, our people will remain steadfast. This system of hypocrisy will fall, as so many colonial projects have fallen before it. Palestine will remain the truth that strips away all masks.
