Our People in Gaza Are Still Subjected to Genocide, and the Occupation Prevents the Provision of Adequate Shelter

HAMAS spokesperson Hazem Qassem warned of the repercussions of the new weather system expected to affect the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the current tents designated for sheltering displaced people are unsuitable for withstanding rain or winter cold, especially given the occupation’s restrictions on fuel entry.

Qassem added on Tuesday that the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip necessitates an urgent relief operation and the provision of proper and adequate shelters by all relevant parties. He stressed the need to compel the occupation to implement the humanitarian relief protocols stipulated in the January agreement, which were reaffirmed in the October agreement.

He pointed out that our people in the Gaza Strip are still subjected to ongoing genocide through various means, including the continued siege, the prevention of the entry of suitable shelter materials, the restriction of humanitarian aid, and the closure of crossings. This places the international community before its urgent moral and political responsibilities towards the civilian population.
