The head of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” abroad, the Mujahid brother Khaled Mashaal, called on the nation to support the occupied city of Jerusalem and protect the Palestinian resistance project.
Speaking today, Saturday, at the “Covenant to Jerusalem” conference, held under the title “Towards Renewing the Nation’s Will in the Face of Liquidation and Annihilation,” Mashaal said: “The time has come for the nation to decide to liberate Jerusalem as the symbol and emblem of the liberation of Palestine, to cleanse the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to restore the Islamic and Christian holy sites. The covenant to Jerusalem is its liberation, and this is the fundamental project.”
He emphasized that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle was launched for the sake of Jerusalem and the Palestinian people, adding that the Islamic nation faces a historic responsibility that requires a unified stance to confront the war of annihilation and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
Mashaal called for the adoption of a serious Arab and Islamic strategy to defend the nation and the region against Israeli aggression and its plans for hegemony, violation, and subjugation, and to reject all forms of normalization and relations with this criminal entity. This entity is our common enemy and a danger to us all.
No Victory Without Unity
Mashaal called for protecting the resistance project and its weapons, adding that this is the right of our people to defend themselves. He emphasized that the resistance and its weapons are the nation’s honor and pride, and that peace can only be achieved by the strong, and only through strength.
He stressed that there can be no victory without unity or partnership, and this is a call for everyone not to monopolize decision-making. Everyone must help build Palestinian national unity, both inside and outside Palestine.
Mashaal emphasized the need for everyone to help build Palestinian national unity, both inside and outside Palestine, and to strengthen the spirit of genuine partnership in the fields of struggle, politics, and decision-making. He asserted that there can be no victory without unity, and no achievement without partnership.
He added, “This is a call for everyone not to monopolize decision-making or authority. The homeland is our homeland, the cause is our cause, and our destiny is one and the same. We are all threatened, and we have no choice but to work together and build our national unity to liberate our homeland and rebuild it.”
Mashaal called for saving the occupied West Bank from Judaization, settlement expansion, and displacement, and for standing with our people in the 1948 territories against the plans of oppression, displacement, and demonization. He pointed out that the major battle is being waged on the West Bank, in Jerusalem, and against our holy sites, and that the plots are unfolding one after another. This is the responsibility of Arabs, Muslims, and the international community. He emphasized that we are the ones who decide, who initiate the journey, and who insist on our position. The world will stand with us after witnessing this heinous Zionist crime, which it can no longer tolerate.
Mashaal called for the necessity of working to liberate the prisoners and detainees in the enemy’s prisons and to rescue them from the most horrific forms of abuse and torture they are subjected to.
Mashaal demanded that the Zionist entity and its leaders be pursued on the international stage, tried, and condemned legally and politically, boycotted economically, and besieged everywhere.
Relief for Gaza
Mashaal reiterated Hamas’s rejection of all forms of trusteeship and mandate imposed by the occupation on Gaza, the West Bank, and Palestine in general. He added that the Palestinians are the ones who govern themselves and decide for themselves. There will be no trusteeship, no mandate, and no reoccupation.
He continued, “Our people need neither protection nor guardianship. They aspire to independence, not a mandate. This is our land, our homeland, and our destiny; we are the ones who decide.”
He called for all efforts and resources to be mobilized for Gaza, ensuring an end to the war, restoring its well-being, providing relief, shelter, medical treatment, reconstruction, breaking the siege, opening the crossings, and rejecting all attempts at displacement and the re-engineering of the Gaza Strip according to Israeli plans.
Mashaal called for a resurgence of political, popular, student, and media activism across the Arab world and beyond, in support of Gaza and the Palestinian cause, and to build upon the profound and far-reaching impact of the recent events.
He added, “We have paid a heavy price. Gaza, with all its resilience, greatness, resistance, people, and legendary steadfastness, has given the world a gift: it has revitalized our cause and exposed the true nature of the Zionist entity.”
Mashaal continued, “Let this conference be a starting point for building a global alliance in favor of Palestine and its independence, working to build a broad international pressure on the Zionist entity, similar to the pressure that preceded the end of the apartheid regime in South Africa.”
