OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Palestinian Union of Latin America (UPAL)
On this November 29, International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Palestinian Union of Latin America (UPAL) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the historical, political, and human rights of our people, both in the homeland and in the diaspora.
This date—established by the United Nations but consistently undermined by the inaction of the international community—reminds us that Palestine continues to be the victim of a colonial project that attempts, through occupation, forced displacement, and ongoing aggression, to erase the identity of an ancient people.
However, Palestine lives, resists, and will not relinquish its inherent right to freedom.
UPAL makes a firm appeal to the governments, leaders, and political candidates of Latin America not to align themselves with the injustices of the Zionist regime of Israel. Any political or diplomatic relationship that ignores the reality of the occupation constitutes a direct affront to the dignity of the Palestinian people and an implicit endorsement of the continuation of crimes documented by international organizations.
To our Palestinian diaspora—proud, hardworking, and deeply committed to its heritage—we send a message of unity: you are the living embodiment of Palestine’s memory. No distance can separate Palestinians from their land, nor exiles from their identity. Every voice in Latin America is a heartbeat that strengthens the struggle for self-determination.
Today, as every day, UPAL reiterates that:
The Palestinian people have the right to return to their land and their freedom.
The occupation, apartheid, and colonization are not “conflicts”; they are crimes.
There will be no peace without justice, and there will be no justice without the complete end of the Zionist colonial project in Palestine.
On this International Day of Solidarity, we invite the peoples and organizations of Latin America to renew their moral and political commitment to Palestine. Let solidarity not be a symbolic gesture, but a constant act of conscience and dignity.
Palestine will prevail.
Justice will prevail.
