Hamas congratulates the Popular Front brothers on the fifty-eighth anniversary of its founding.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, extended its warmest congratulations to its brothers in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on the 58th anniversary of its founding.

This came in a message from Hamas Political Bureau member and head of the National Relations Office, Husam Badran, addressed to the PFLP’s Secretary-General, Comrade Ahmad Sa’adat, his deputy, Comrade Jamil Mazhar, members of the Political Bureau and the Central Committee, and all leaders, cadres, and fighters throughout Palestine and the diaspora.

In his message on Thursday, Badran emphasized Hamas’s deep appreciation for the PFLP’s struggle since December 11, 1967. He considered the Front a qualitative addition to the Palestinian national struggle, a steadfast revolutionary force in the post-1967 era, and an extension of the Arab Nationalist Movement’s experience. He described it as a clear national voice opposing political settlements and rejecting surrender agreements and recognition of the occupation.

Badran highlighted the Front’s pioneering role in resistance and guerrilla warfare, its innovative methods of engaging with the occupation, and its clear imprint on the Palestinian resistance movement through its steadfast positions and strategic operations.

The Hamas leader also recalled the leading role of the national leader and freedom fighter George Habash, praising the sacrifices of the Front’s leaders and fighters who offered martyrs and prisoners on the path to liberation, foremost among them the iconic martyr leader Abu Ali Mustafa and the imprisoned Secretary-General Ahmed Sa’adat. He described them as a source of honorable struggle that has inspired generations with the spirit of steadfastness, sacrifice, and resilience.

The Hamas Political Bureau member reiterated the movement’s commitment to deepening cooperation and partnership among all components of the Palestinian people and continuing joint action in the fields of resistance, politics, and society. He emphasized that the relationship between Hamas and the Front constitutes a national asset that grows in value at this critical juncture in our people’s history.

Badran concluded his message with a prayer that the next anniversary would bring tidings of liberation, and that the occupation would be lifted from the land of Palestine, along with the celebration of the release of prisoners and the return of the Palestinian people to their homes and their full and undiminished rights.
