Direct attack on the city of Jerusalem

Hamas: The settlement occupation plan targeting the lands of the Qalandia Airport project constitutes a direct assault on the city of Jerusalem

Member of the Political Bureau and official of the Jerusalem Affairs Office in the Hamas movement, Haroun Nasser al-Din, confirmed that the new settlement occupation plan that targets the lands of Qalandia Airport to establish about 9,000 settlement units, and the accompanying settlers’ attempt to set up and light the “Hanukkah” menorah at Bab al-Qattanin, one of the historical doors of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, during their storming of the Buraq Wall square, represents a new episode in the scene of dangerous provocative Judaization escalation that The occupation is practicing it against Al-Aqsa, and it constitutes a direct assault on the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the city of Jerusalem.

Nasser al-Din explained that these aggressive settlement practices, which are being carried out under the full auspices and protection of the occupation forces, fall within the context of the settler occupation approach and the settlers’ approach based on exploiting the alleged holiday seasons to impose new Judaizing events on Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings, and aim to change its religious and historical character, and impose the occupation’s sovereignty over it by force, in flagrant violation of its sanctity and all international laws and resolutions.

Nasser al-Din stressed that the continuation of settlements, incursions, abuse of worshipers, and the imposition of Talmudic rituals inside the vicinity of Al-Aqsa portends dire consequences for the occupation, which will be consumed by the fire of its criminal actions, stressing that the occupation’s policy based on religious provocation and racism will ignite the field of confrontation and anger.

Nasser al-Din called on the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world to assume their responsibilities in defending Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to work hard to stop the policy of Judaization and incursions, and to protect the First Qibla from these escalating dangers.

He stressed that the Palestinian people will remain steadfast in Jerusalem, adhering to their rights and sanctities, and that these attacks and crimes will not give the occupation any legitimacy over our land and sanctities, and will not change the Arab-Islamic identity of Al-Aqsa, no matter how long it takes.
