Zionism doesn’t fight only Hamas, it fights the entire Palestinian people

For more than seven decades, the Israeli propaganda apparatus has attempted to reduce the Palestinian cause to a fight against a single organization: Hamas. With this argument, they seek to justify the genocide of an entire people and present their war as an “anti-terrorist campaign.” However, the truth is very different: Zionism doesn’t fight Hamas, it fights Palestine, its people, its history, its identity, and its right to exist.

Since 1948, the Zionist project has been based on dispossession, ethnic cleansing, and the denial of the other. It doesn’t matter whether the Palestinian is Christian or Muslim, whether they live in Gaza, Jerusalem, or in the diaspora; for Zionism, every Palestinian is an obstacle to its colonial project. This is the root of the violence we see today: not a religious or political conflict, but a prolonged military occupation that seeks to erase an entire people from their land.

Reducing our cause to a confrontation with Hamas is a calculated strategy to divide and confuse international public opinion. It is an attempt to strip the Palestinian resistance of its historical and moral legitimacy, portraying the victims as aggressors. But the world is beginning to wake up: the child murdered in Rafah, the displaced woman in Khan Younis, the young man imprisoned in Nablus, or the refugee dreaming of returning to Haifa are not “terrorists”; they are the faces of a nation that refuses to die.

Our struggle did not begin in 1987 or 2007. It began 77 years ago, when the first armed settlers expelled entire families and declared the birth of a “state” on the ruins of Palestine. Since then, we have resisted with words, with memory, with education, and, when there is no other option, with armed defense. Each generation has raised its flag, each martyr has sown a seed of freedom.

Zionism fears something more powerful than weapons: the unity and conscience of the Palestinian people. It fears that the world will understand that the Palestinian cause is not a matter of religion or internal politics, but a cause of universal justice, of human freedom and dignity.

That is why they try to isolate Hamas, criminalize all forms of resistance, and silence the voice of the people crying out for justice.

But Palestine does not surrender. Gaza, with all its pain, remains the beating heart of the entire nation. The West Bank resists steadfastly. Jerusalem remains standing. And in every exile, there is a country that does not forget.

The truth cannot be bombed.
The occupation will fall, and the Palestinian flag will once again fly freely over its ancestral land.
