The Boycott Department of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine values the courageous and responsible stance of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who ordered the expulsion of members of the Israeli diplomatic mission from his country in response to the occupation army’s interception of a humanitarian aid flotilla destined for the Gaza Strip—an act that constitutes an international crime and a flagrant violation of international law.

The Department stated that Colombia’s decision represents a clear stance in favor of justice and the rights of the Palestinian people, in addition to being a forceful message against the policy of impunity that the occupying state has been practicing with the support of global colonial powers. This position also reflects Colombia’s alignment with the will of free peoples, who reject aggression and the blockade and support the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and independence.

The Boycott Department called on governments, parliaments, and political forces around the world to follow Colombia’s lead and adopt similar practical measures, expelling ambassadors from the occupation and halting all forms of normalization and cooperation with it, as it is a rogue colonial state that threatens international peace and security.

The statement concluded by reaffirming that these advanced international positions constitute a boost for the struggle of the Palestinian people, reinforce the isolation of the occupation, and pave the way for the imposition of sanctions against it, as well as for holding it accountable for its ongoing crimes against humanity.
