Why Email States?

This September 18 marks the deadline given by the UNGA in Resolution A/ES-10/L.31 for Israel to end its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). The same resolution, which was issued September 18, 2024, also ordered Israel to immediately comply with the provisional measures in the genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Therefore, it is clear that Israel considers itself above international law, and nothing short of a UN-mandated multinational force properly equipped to protect Palestinians and ensure the safe passage of aid will stop this genocide. UNGA member states must act now to support.

The largest organization representing Palestinian Civil Society, The Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO), joined by major global social movements, has called for the deployment of a UN-Mandated Multinational Protective Force. Dozens of UN experts including Francesca Albanese have made a similar call, and former UN senior human rights official Craig Mokhiber has outlined a clear plan (the same one endorsed by PNGO and global social movements) to ensure that the UN authorize the deployment of an armed protection force using Uniting for Peace.

These plans stand in stark contrast to the French-Saudi proposal for a “stabilization” force, which Palestinian civil society as represented by PNGO firmly rejects, as the latter would be led by states that have themselves been complicit in the genocide, and would have the goal of returning to the violent, illegal Zionist settler colonial “status quo,” allowing no future possibility for Palestinian sovereignty or right to return.

President Gustavo Petro of Colombia has already committed to taking the first crucial step of introducing a Uniting for Peace (UfP) resolution conforming to the demands of Palestinian civil society at an Emergency Special Session, calling for the deployment of such a force. But in order for the resolution to succeed and for a multinational UN protective force to be deployed, two thirds of the UNGA member states must vote to approve it.

What You Can Do

This email is addressed to representatives of UNGA member states that supported (or did not actively oppose) Resolution A/ES-10/L.31 in 2024. By sending it, you let them know that if they formally request the deployment of a UN-mandated multinational protective force that is armed for self-defense and to protect civilians, the world will support them.

With a Uniting for Peace Resolution there is no Security Council veto, and support comes from countries that stand with Palestine—not from permanent members seeking their own interests.

Please, use the form below to send your email so the nations of the world know your support is real. Show them they can count on your commitment to Palestine—in the streets, on picket lines, and calling for justice.
