International Campaign in Defense of Jerusalem
The International Campaign to Defend Jerusalem strongly condemns the blatant Israeli aggression that targeted the territory of the sister State of Qatar, in a flagrant violation of international law and a gross breach of the sovereignty of an Arab state that is a member of the United Nations.
Within the Campaign, we regard this attack as a dangerous escalation that reflects the Israeli occupation’s ongoing approach of sowing chaos and instability in the region and expanding the scope of its aggression beyond the borders of the occupied Palestinian land, in a brazen challenge to human values and international charters and conventions.
The International Campaign refutes Trump’s claims by which he sought to deny prior knowledge of the attack on Doha, on the grounds that a squadron of aircraft cannot fly in Qatar’s airspace—where the “Al Udeid” base is located—without prior knowledge. This raises the question of whether the United States is a security umbrella for the State of Qatar and all the Gulf Cooperation Council states, or whether trust in the United States has now been put to the test.
The Campaign affirms its full solidarity with the State of Qatar—its people and its leadership—and calls on the international community, especially the Security Council and the United Nations, to shoulder its responsibilities to halt this aggression immediately and to hold the Israeli entity accountable for its crimes against the region’s peaceful peoples.
The Campaign also calls for strengthening the Arab position in the face of Israeli arrogance and for joint action to deter the occupation from its overreach, whether in Palestine or beyond.
In conclusion, this aggression will only increase our adherence to our central cause—the cause of Jerusalem and Palestine—and our continued efforts to expose the occupation’s policies and isolate it at the legal, diplomatic, and popular levels.
